Planning and Zoning
The zoning regulations are consistent with the Boone County Comprehensive Development Plan and is designed for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals or the general welfare of the County, and to secure safety from fire, flood, and other dangers and was designed to lessen the congestion in the streets, roads, and highways, to provide adequate light and air, to prevent the overcrowding of lands, to avoid undue concentration of population, and to facilitate the adequate provisions of transportation, water, services, schools, parks, and other public requirements.
Other Duties of the zoning administrator include, but are not limited to:
- Enforce zoning regulations.
- Inspect properties for zoning compliance.
- Reducing the waste of Enforce the code enforcement abatement process.
- Maintain reports of all code enforcement activities.
- Review all change code applications including prepared ordinance, staff report, and all attachments regarding the requested zoning change.
- Review, document, and provide written reviews to small- and large-scale proposed developments.
- Research and prepare ordinances and resolution as necessary.
